Member Responsibilities

Executive Board

 

Sponsor

 

Provides supervision, direction, and insight to the club members. Offers alternate viewpoints; our success is the sponsor's success, our failure is ours alone.

 

President

 

Supervises the Vice President and all applicable departments. Ensures the Secretary and Treasurer also fulfill their duties, and is also responsible for effective flow between respective offices. Necessary sills are efficiency, productivity, organization, poise, and responsibility.

 

Vice President

 

Directly Oversees Project Management, Education, and Public Relations. Works to organize and publicize BVW TARS events, along with providing the necessary "fair and balanced" image. The VP designs and implements strategies to broaden the club, and increases general public awareness, along with assisting the Club President in executive decisions. Necessary skills are computer literacy, motivation, ideation, futurism, and poise.

 

 

Secretary

 

Responsible for meeting documentation and official correspondence notebook. The secretary delegates communication and documentation tasks to direct reports and manages the internet web site. Necessary skills consist of organization, responsibility, delegation, and effective communication of ideas.

 

 

Treasurer

 

The treasurer is responsible for all monetary transactions. He/She must maintain consistent contact with the school accountant to ensure all the balances are correct. Any purchase orders will be completed by the treasurer. They will also supervise all fundraisers and the intake of monies. Necessary skills include excellence in mathematics, communication, and organization.

 

Coordinating Officers

 

Events Coordinator

 

Is in charge of overseeing all events held by the BVW TARS. Contacts guest speakers and coordinates logistics of all open forums. Assists all fundraising drives along with publicity events by delegating tasks to his/her direct reports. Necessary skills are productivity, organization, accountability, and exceptional interaction skills.

 

Education Coordinator

 

Is responsible for all club discussions and policy debates.Provides weekly seminars on current issues of interest. Brainstorms ideas for upcoming topics. Is responsible for the club's annual report to investors and local political figureheads. Comes up with questions to be presented at open forums. Necessary skills include: interest in politics, accountability, and effective communicator.

 

 

 

Press Secretary

 

Is in charge of all media contact and the club media directory, as well as club communications with publicity. Oversees the development and administration of press standards; serves as the press liaison for the club. Distributes and designs monthly newsletters for the club. Necessary skills are oration, social responsibility, poise, and decorum. Will also resume the abilities of the Webmaster, maintaining an up to date website. 

 

 

Membership Coordinator

 

Works to increase club membership. Is in charge of organizing club membership drives, as well as creating club member benefits. Works with volunteer coordinator on member needs in volunteer situations. Assists events coordinator when applicable. Necessary skills include: computer literacy, high energy, and social responsibility.
